Twenty-Six Waruda

Project Type
Multi-Residential

Location
Kirribilli, NSW

Perched on one of Sydney's most enviable sites on Waruda St in Kirribilli, you are welcomed on approach by a mixture of dense residential flat buildings on a steeply sloping site that look out onto the breathtaking views of the harbour. A series of apertures punch through a masonry wall, layered between finely detailed steel plates over a curved façade, creating an interesting and evoking form in an otherwise traditional setting.

The biggest challenge was to maximize the available views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House to the south while maintaining solar access to the balconies and living spaces from the north. To add to this challenge, the site is only 12m wide with dense residential units to all sides.
